Who Can Tell Me what is Wrong with My Trees?
If it is time to take one of your trees down, there are going to be several signs that help you accept it. If you notice any of the following signs, you will know that it is time to call your tree professional to take down try the tree:
– Tree Infection: When you have a tree that is infected, you might notice things like deep cracks in the trunk, misshapen or shriveled leaves, soft crumbly wood, or crown dieback can all be indications that you’re dealing with a tree that is in trouble. Some infections can be fixed, but others will require the tree to be removed.
– Dying Tree Crown: When you notice that there are large sections of the crown that are all of a sudden dying, this indicates a big problem. These portions of the crown that die can often fall suddenly and for no reason, leaving somebody seriously injured if they are struck by the falling branches.
– No Tree Growth: If you notice that your tree is not growing as well as the trees around it, it can also be an indication that the tree is in trouble. You might notice that the leaves are discolored and sparse, or the tree might simply look like its growth has been stunted.
– Tree Root Abnormalities: It isn’t uncommon for root abnormalities to be something that is difficult to uncover. However, if you notice heaving soil or fungi growing around the base, it is a good indication that you have an issue with the roots.
– Hollow Tree: A tree that is hollow can be incredibly dangerous. If more than a third of the tree is hollow inside, it is a danger to the property and everyone around it and should be removed.
– Trees Near Power Lines: Trees should never be located close to power lines. However, as a tree grows, they can often get large enough that they start to get close to these dangerous lines. If they are coming in contact with power lines, they need to be removed as they are a fire hazard.
